  • Hi MYKT,

    Seems like your registry not pointing to the Windows Update Service Server so to fix this issue you have to remove the registry and restart your Laptop and try it again.

    1. In search type "regedit.exe" and click on the result RegEdit.

    2. Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate" .

    3. Right Click on "AU" Folder under WindowsUpdate and delete it.

    4. Restart your computer and try to run the update again

    Hope this will help you to fix the update issue.

    Good Luck

  • Hi,

    0x80072EE2 = ERROR_INTERNET_TIMEOUT

    I agree with Binod-Shrestaha. It’s a problem with contacting the update servers. You can fix it with with registry cleaner.

    In addition, you may use the hotfix below to check the issue:

    Temporary connection-related errors may occur when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update

    Also, you can try the steps in this Help&How-to article:
