Appv Application failing to Launch and need to restart the server

Question

Hi,
i have a problem with Applications populating in Appv as they show only few applications and at this point they dont launch and give an error code 10000009 and if i restart the Appv server it works fine. Also i noticed in the sft log i see the message.
01/10/2011 08:58:46:574 MIME ERR] {tid=10C:usr=Administrator}
Failure on Desktop Configuration Server request to URL {rtsp://host name:554/} with header {Host: hostname
Content-Type: text/xml
AppV-Op: Refresh
} (rc 19D0990A-10000009).Below is my Environment scenario
1. I have installed the Appv Client with default setting and the Client cache is 6144 Mb (Default size)
2. These Vm’s are Provisioned from a Citrix provisioning server.
3. The Cache is a Read only on the File share which i have prepopulated all applications.
When the Applications are not populated and only shows a few Apps in the Start-programs menu. At this point if i restart the Appv server and log back in it will populate athe Start menu-Programs with the Apps.
Regards
Aj

See some resources here for troubleshooting the Management Server: http://blog.stealthpuppy.com/virtualisation/app-v-faq-23-how-do-i-troubleshoot-the-app-v-management-server/Friday, January 14, 2011 11:56 AMModerator

Hi,
We have exactly the same problem in the same environment (Citrix PVS, App-V read-only cache)!
If I use app-v-ping.exe on the client I get the Error 7 (Waiting for response... Failed with a time out). I don't see any error messages on the server and on another client everything works fine!
Any ideas?
Regards,
Daniel
