cannot extend .vhd file RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a .vhd file situated in "new Volume F:". The size of this vhd file is 30Gb . There is 16.83GB free in this partition. When my virtual machine is in a shutdown state , I go to settings and edit Hard Drive (vhd) , I click on expand and it allows me to expand the vhd file to 40Gb. I click finish and when I start the vhd up again , it is exactly the same size. Why cant I epand this vhd.
