Service Manager NOtifications no longer working RRS feed

  • May you kindly assist regarding Service Manager notifications, the notifications were sent successfully from our Service Manager to the SMTP server but when we came on Monday and the incidents/ Service requests are logged, there is no more notifications.

    We have checked the connection between the SCSM server and the SMTP server, there is no connection between the two server though both are on the network. What might have caused the disconnection between the two servers?

    I also checked if there were updates that ran since the day I was working and there was none. Port 25 is allowed on the local fire wall. The event logs were also checked and there is nothing that points to notifications on the logs.

     

    May you kindly advice regarding what can we do to get the notifications working again.

    All SCSM services are started? Restart of the SCSM services does not solve the issue?

  • Are you able to communicate with a telnet client (e.g. Putty https://www.putty.org/) from SCSM server to your SMTP Server?

    Use Telnet to test SMTP communication on Exchange servers

    If anonymous connect is disabled on the SMTP server use the SCSM workflow account to log in.

    Only the notification workflows are affected? Or other SCSM workflows as well?

  • Hi,

    check if other Workflows are running, e.g. Connectors. If not restart the System Center Management.

    On the Management Server look in Event Viewer/Applications and Services Logs/Operations Manager for Errors.

    Thank you for your reply, only the notifications are affected, we are still able to log the incidents/service requests and so forth but no email notifications are sent through like usual.
