Limitation of bandwith for each user on file server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello! Does its possible to somehow limit output and/or input bandwith for each connection or a user by SMB with Windows tools? Because when someone copying a file from the internal file server (in fact it's network shared folder) (by SMB), the network become slowly as hell.

  • If I will assign a policy for all users with limitation in 1 MB - does all users will have such limitation or that number will be divided by amount of users? Because assign this policy to each individual user/PC will be a very... long.

  • Maybe look into Policy-based QoS which allows you to define the priority of traffic at a per user/device level if deployed by group policy.
