Sharepoint Admin doesnt have access to sub-site

In S harepoint 2007, I have my admin account in the 'Site Collection Administrators' group.
And within 'Site Settings', I can see the right column as 'Site Collection Administrators'

Using the admin account, I can view the first level of the site.
However when I browse to a specific folder/sub-site, I get Access Denied. I've even tried using the farm administrator account, I am denied.

Any suggestions on how to reset permissions?

Check one of those commands
stsadm -o userrole http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262083%28office.12%29.aspx

stsadm -o adduser http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262627%28office.12%29.aspx

Are you using the same permission from the parent site? Have you created special permissions on it?
