Program thumbnails on my computer have gone missing? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I noticed recently that, for several programs on my computer, the thumbnail image one would normally see when clicking on the program is missing.  It is replaced instead by the white "cannot find image" rectangle.  Any advice?

  • Hi,

According to your description, this issue can be caused by thumbnails cache, I suggest to delete thumbnails cache for test:

    1.    Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

    2.    If you are prompted, click My files only.

    3.    In the Files to delete list, click to select Thumbnails.
Note Configure other options that you want.

    4.    Click OK, and then click Delete files.

If the issue persists, you can create another user to see if the same issue occurs.

Furthermore, you can try to perform a system restore from a backup point.

    Hope it helps.
