  • Question

  • Just bought an HP Pavilion with windows 7 in january.  We've been having problems from the beginning.  We get a lot of "IE not responding" and the google search box disappears fron the upper left corner.  We also get a lot of "script errors" and when yes or no box is clicked on, the box continues to keep popping up until I turn off the computer.  Is there a fix or is my computer and windows a POS?

  • Hi,

I suggest that you could run internet explorer with “no-add-ons” to check the result.

If the problem disappears, it could be caused by IE add-ons, please try following steps to narrow down.

    1.    In Internet Explorer, click Tools and click Manage add-ons.
    2.    Disable the third-party add-ons and keep the needed items on.
    3.    After finding the related item, double click the item and select Remove.
    4.    Restart Internet Explorer and check the issue again.

If the issue persists, I suggest you reset your IE settings. Please refer to the following KB article:
