Unable to approve tasks in Approval Center (approval center is disable) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,I run in to this problem a couple of time and I don't fine any real solution.

Essentially, this issue manifests when a task in the Approval View has a start date exactly 63 days prior to the current date (In our case).

If we wait one day the approval center is now enable. How to submit this to microsoft? I don't have anytime to spent recreating this issue...

My probleme is the same as this one but their is no real solution...

    Any Help is welcome

  • MS fix this problem with JUNE 2012 CU.

"Buttons on the ribbon are disabled for certain tasks in the Approval Center. This issue is caused by a script error that occurs on the Approval Center page."

  • Hi PWAdmin,

You can raise a support call to MS and provide the link to that TechNet post and explain you have the same issue as detailed there. They might tell you at that point they are aware of the issue and a fix is due in X number of months or they might need more details from you. Does your organisation have a Premier Support contract as this might help speed things up for you?

  • Agree with Paul.  FWIW, I am pretty sure it's a known issue.

I might recommend not having tasks that long - as most methodologies I am familiar with would indicate that a duration longer than two weeks or so is excessive.  If the task hasn't started on schedule, then it should be rescheduled.

Hence, except for specific demo circumstances, I would never have an incomplete task starting 63 days prior.

  • Hi Paul,

We don't have the "Premier Support Contract" and it's pain for me to find the 295$ to ask the question to Microsoft (because of the finance process).

I'll talk about this with IS.

    Thanks a lot!

  • No problem :)

Worth noting Andrew's comments above regarding task lengths also!

    Thanks
