How to block numbers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

I have been tasked with finding a way to block incoming numbers.  I found the below articles however I have a few issues/concerns.

Has anyone found an easy way to block incoming numbers via Skype for Business or a AudioCodes Gateway?

If so, what is your experience with blocking number in Skype for Business and how are you doing it?

    http://www.wavecoreit.com/blog/clientconfig/skype-for-business-client-side-call-blocking/

This article is the preferred method because we can put the ownership on the user and only block a certain number for a user.  However I am not able to get an Outlook contact in Skype for Business contact list to change from Auto-Assign Relationship to Blocked Contacts Relationship.  The Privacy Relationship always stays on Auto-Assign.  I can change contact that are within our org and even external federated contacts.  Just not contacts I had via Outlook.  I suspect its because of the Unified Contact Store?  Anyone else have this issue?

The article is good as well but I do not like the idea of making server side changes just to block a few numbers and I would rather not have to manage a list.

    Thanks,

    Ian...

  • Hi lan,

    Welcome to our forum.

We suggest you block incoming numbers using AudioCodes gateway using the following link, because it will reduce voice flow between AudioCode and SFB server:
