Answers

  • If alert only if service startup type is automatic, then when the startup type is not automatic, then it will not send alert.

Please try overriding it to false.

  • I think that you has download the MP from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8770 and it is support Windows server 2008 DHCP monitoring.

In side the DHCP monitor there is a single monitor to monitor the DHCP service status. (DHCP Service Running Monitor)  This monitor will not monitor the DHCP service on a cluster by default.  It will need an override to tell it “Alert only if startup type is automatic = false”.  This is common and the default behavior for service unit monitors.

  • Hi,

Did you use the below management pack?

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8770

As we can see in above link:

    Supported Operating System

Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2

        • Other Software
        • Systems Center Operations Manager 2007 SP1
        • Windows Server 2003 DHCP, 2008 DHCP, or 2008 R2 DHCP

Please flush health state and caches for the Windows 2008 DHCP server and we need to check the operation manager event logs on that server also.

  • You will need to use Management pack that Yan post it.

For no alert when one of cluster of DHCP down, you will need to verify that you enable proxy agent to can monitor cluster functionality.

  • Hi,

The Management pack should also aplly for DHCP 2008, please follow the management guide for more details.

Here is a management pack for DHCP 2008, but it is for MOM 2005:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21825

In addition, I would like to suggest you post a new thread in this forum, as this is a long aged thread.

  • Thank you very much for your fast feedback. But,

It is only for Microsoft.Windows.2008R2.DHCP.Server. I import it but it does not work for DHCP 2008

I need the version 6.0.6452.0, for DHCP 2000/2003/2008 because i have a custom MP need that version to support DHCP 2008.

I already post it into new  thread :
