    My gallery Contributions and Downloads are not showing in my Technet profile.

    It is showing as 0

    there is recognition that gallery contributions are not showing up in profiles, either on the Activity tab, or in the statistics. My own experience also confirms this. However, I can see the number of downloads increase over time when I view my contributions. I am convinced that the metadata exists so admins will be able to update or activities and statistics (and award any achievements) once they fix the problem.

    Right. The reality is that the social tool (Gallery) is a separate system from the Profile. So you have the social tool building up the statistics in one database. Then it has to communicate with the Profile and update it with the new data. However, servers aren't always fast enough to transfer that data and many times the feeds get slow or stop temporarily. So it's still being captured in the source database. And eventually that will migrate to the Profile system.
