Sizing Guidlines RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi there we are currently pre deployment of Branch Cache Servers to some remote sites and i can't seem to find any guidlines around Sizing for the cache on a Hosted Cache server?

I should clarify I know how to configure the size via NETSH or GPO I am more interested in the calculations to work out what size your Cache should be.

  • Hi,

By default, the cache on the hosted cache server is configured to use 5% of the hard disk space on the local hard disk. You could change this value. But for the calculations, it seems like there is no official article related to this.

  • Hi Vivian yes agreed I have searched and searched but cannot find anything , I figure the best thing to do is look at biggest site File server run a report on all files <28 days that have been modified and the difference in size of said files over the 27 days and then use that as a baseline , Note based on accepting the default of 28 days for ageing.
