Render Excel? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Community

I have a MOSS 2007 that I can add more servers to.

My ASP.Net appl can run on my MOSS 2007 server.

Central Administration lets me create ASP.Net websites
but how can I provide an Excel Spreadshet for a client
    machine to access?

        Thank you

  • Yes,

users can use all kinds of files you have mentioned above.

However excel services provides some additional functionality and I think your requirement is one of them.

Yes external users should not See central admin, here comes the role of sharepoint admins to add the document libraries where the excel files are stored into the trusted one.

I hope I am clear now.

  • Hi,

Could you explain your requirement in more details?

Clients can directly work with excel and can upload download them to doc libraries in most basic usage.

However there are some services as well provided by excel in MOSS.

You need to enable excel services for this.

    Refer this:

I hope this will help you out.

  • Hello Rahul Rashu

I am under the impression that when Sharepoint is rendered to the user
they would see a screen/dashboard that gives them the options to create documents,
Excel spreadsheeets, blogs, Wiki's and things like that.  Then I could set quotas
for the to have a certain amount of workspace to do these types of things.

The user shouldn't see Central Administration which is all I see when I am
using Sharepoint which is why I am asking how do I present the other screens
    screens to them?

        Thank you
