Windows Vista and HP printer installation issues RRS feed

  • Question

I have a fairly new HP Deskjet 5900 series printer, which is compatible with XP.  Recently I have bought a new laptop which runs Vista.  On installation, error message occurs and it asks for 3 Registry Keys (which it says do not exist), as follows:  slbcsp.dll, sccbaseldll, gpkcsp.dll

It also asks for Registry Key (which it says it cannot access): Enum

Please advise fix.  How do I get these Registry Keys?  Will I actually be able to run this HP Deskjet 5900 series printer with Vista at all?

Answers

  • Did you use the Windows Vista driver for your printer?
Here's one for the 5940 model for example:

Just check the site for the correct vista driver for your exact model.
