IOS Enrollment - move device from Apple Configurator to MDM-DEP? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had a few devices that I needed to bring into DEP management. I was doing this via Apple Configurator as it is only way to do it. I accidentally enrolled the device into Intune via Apple Configurator before doing the DEP enrollment. They are now listed in the Apple Configurator section:

    Apple Configurator Devices

I have tried deleting them via this screen but it won't let me. It says they need to be unenrolled but I can't find a way to do it. I want to move them over to normal DEP-MDM management like all my other devices:

    Apple DEP-MDM screen

Anyone have any pointers on completing this move?

  • Hi Brian,

In this situation you will first need to Erase the device(s) in Apple Configurator on Mac.

    You can do that by:
Select a device or Blueprint on Apple Configurator on Mac > Then choose Actions > Advanced > Erase All Content and Settings.

Doing that will unenroll the device. As soon as device is unenrolled, you can delete it from the Apple Configurator Device within Intune Console.

Later on you can re-enroll it via DEP.
