Clean History in IE7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

how can i clean the history of IE7 with steady or some other stuff, when i close the browser ?

This is a basic need when we run IE7 in kiosk mode with external auth. The windows session is closed only once a day and the history can be see by other pc user.

    Thaks all

  • We use this setting under the tools options in IE7:

    Advanced and then security.

There is a check box to empty temporary internet files and we also have the history set to 0.

I think SS 2.5 also has the option under the user as well.

  • It looks like IE8 comes with the option of clearing history on exit. It hasn't been out long, and I always let new versions of IE live in the real world a bit before I move to it.

Using IE for kiosk situations has been impossible for me since IE7 came out. I had to move to FireFox, which has add-ons that keep it secure. Firefox also has the ability to clear all private data when you close it.

Overall, I don't know if there's a good way to automate clearing of history in IE7
