  • Question

  • Hello!

Is it possible to make some script of partitioning?

if no partition then make automatically 100%

if there are some partitions then to install system on disk 0 partition 1

I know how to make it separatly but not in one task sequence

may be to use some setted variables on error?

can one to give examples of this or links where to read?

  • If you were to look at ZTIDiskpart.wsf you'd see that MDT is already scripted to make full use of disk 0. It will create the necessary partitions depending on if the system is uEFI or not. You do not need to modify the task sequence if you used the Standard Client Task Sequence for example, it will properly configure disk 0.

So even if you are deploying to uEFI do not change this in the task sequence, the script will setup the drive as needed.

  • default variant will delete all partitions

the second (disk 0 part 1) will erase only first and stay additional

idea is to make universal tool for new machines with no partitions (makes disk C 100%)

and reinstall systems with keeping disk D with data.

If I use formating disk 0 partition 1 then new machines with no partitions give error.

So if I catch this error to some variable (if possible) I'll go further to default way

  • If no suggestions,
Recommend how to enable GUI partitioning during MDT wizard
