MS Project - mpt file RRS feed

  • Question

  • my computer after working in MS Project on an MPP file changed it to a global template (.mpt) file.

I can't open it.  It originated in Japan and was behaving normally until the very end.

Suggestions to convert to .mpp and/or open?

    Thanks.

  • Have you tried saving project using the SAVE AS and then specify MPP?   There are several file types and the default is MPP, however since yours may be MPT it may try using that extension.  Override with MPP

  • Thanks Michael for your response. I was able to save as MPP, so I was able to save my work.  Out of curiosity I tried to open the MPT file and there is nothing that appears in MS Project - even though the file is about 0.8 Mb.  Overall, I am good.  Thank you again and have a good weekend.

  • Look in the organizer.  There will be some views, tables, filters, groups, etc.
