Blue Screen Of Death RRS feed

  • Hello, I have acquired the blue screen of death.
    The link to the dump file is as follows:


    I have a Dell Latitude E4310 with Windows 7 service pack 1.

    It boots fine into Safe Mode and works fine within, and works fine with safe mode with networking.

    I have attempted registry clean up and uninstalling anything that was installed since it last worked ok but to no avail.

    Any clues??

  • The minidump file showed a CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION (f4) stop error.


    I suspect the problem may be Avast which has recently created blue screen issues in certain setups such as here.

    I would suggest to uninstall Avast and see if the issue resolves.

    Consider alternative software such as Microsoft Security Essentials.

    If unable to uninstall Avast using "Uninstall a program" there is a utility in the following link you could try:

  • You freaking  beauty, i knew it was that little bugger, but was under the impression i'd uninstalled it ok, and cleaned the registry from it. It would seem that I didnt after all. Its rare for a vendor to be so honest about the fact that their software is badly coded and difficult to fully uninstall so I didnt even think to check on there.
