SharePoint - sort list alphabetically using JavaScript in CEWP RRS feed

  • Question

  • In SharePoint 2007, I would like my Link items on my home page to be listed alphabetically, in the "Default view" without changing the "Use Current View".

This is what I am getting on my home page:

    • Dogs

    • Mice

    • Cats

This is how the original list is sorted:

    - Cats

    - Dogs

    - Mice

How do I make the home page view change, without modifying the "Selected view" to another view (as I do like the way the <Current view> is formatted.

I don't have access to the SharePoint Designer, so was hoping to use a Content Editor Web Part, with some JavaScript to sort the items on the home page list alphabetically.

  • Hello,

What you see if you click on "edit current view" in "Selected view" section. I suspect that sorting is not done for this view. Just edit current view and go to sort section and sort the items based on your column in ascending order.

I just tested this and it works.
