Roaming profile corrupted by losing registry values RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit Laptop that keeps losing the registry values in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon key. Every few days the values 'ExcludeProfileDirs', 'ParseAutoexec', and 'RunLogonScriptSync' will disappear from the user's registry . This leads to the Appdata\Local and Appdata\Locallow folders being copied to the users roaming profile. When this happens, the user is unable to run certain online applications such as GoToAssist and causes the Devices and Printers window to be blank. Rebuilding the profile works to correct the issue, but that isn't a solution for the problem. The group policy has been set to explicitly exclude the Appdata\Local and Appdata\Locallow from syncing but the issue is still happening. The user does, on occassion, log onto a Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit desktop. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Hi,

I understand your situation, can you get the result of rsop.msc to check if this group policy applied successfully?

You may run gpupdate /force command to force your current policy to be applied.

After this, if this issue persists, check the event log for user profile services related error.
