Server 2008 R2 Inplace Upgrade to Server 2012 R2 - Include all Windows Updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have to upgrade some of our old Server 2008 R2 to Server 2012 R2. I tested the inplace upgrade and everything seems to work fine.

The only problem is that the server needs to install at least 150 updates after the upgrade. So I decided to create a custom ISO and integrate all updates. I followed this guide: https://4sysops.com/archives/use-dism-to-slipstream-updates/

But after the inplace upgrade with the custom ISO the server still has to install about 150 updates.

I thougt that this might be only the case when I'm doing an inplace upgrade so I installed a new server from scrath using the custom ISO. But even then the server needs to install about 115 updates.

    Any idea?
