How reliable are information of the “Event Viewer” related to boot performance? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Within the operating system section of “Event Viewer” is a subcategory titled Diagnostic-Performance with an Operational log that contains a set of a Task Category called Boot Performance Monitoring.
In this section you can find some ids:

    EventID Description
100 Time it took to start Windows
101 Application that took longer than last time to start
102 Driver that took longer than last time to start
103 Service that took longer than last time to start
106 Background optimization operation took longer to complete
107 Application of Machine Policy ( GPO ) that took longer  than last time
108 Application of User Policy ( GPO ) that took longer  than last time
109 Device that took longer to initialize

    The questions are:
Can I trust in those events to reduce the boot time in Windows 8.1?
Can I trust that these events will always be notified?

    Thanks in advance,
