Open a project in a particular View and outline level using a URL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

In Project Server 2003, we were able to open a project in any required way using SimpleUI, ViewID and OutlineLevel in the URL.

Observed that Project Server 2010 uses Java Scripts to open views, outline levels etc. and doesnt need to pass through URL.

Is there any way to achieve this in Project Server 2010?

  • Hi Prasad--

    Please see below article:

It seems to be different as you said since the PS2010 uses a different way to display the data as compared to PS2003.

  • Hi Amit,

    Thanks for your reply.

What I am looking for is... Is there any way we can directly open a project in a particular view or an outline level in PS 2010 either through code or using URL?

  • Hi Prasad,

As far as I know that you cannot open a specific view from the URL since all it has the Javascript. I would say to launch the PWA site with schedule.aspx PDP page  or launch the MS project with the custom code. It doesn't seem to be possible by URL in PS2010.

    Hope that helps.
