SharePoint 2007 Meta-Data Dates in Word RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having a problem with Date meta-data fields in Word. I have a document library with 4 custom meta-data date fields. They are configured in SharePoint as Date Only, so no time component.

In the Word template I have added the 4 date fields to the document so that the user can enter the dates when the they create a new document. When the document is first created the dates are entered into the Word document and are saved to SharePoint correctly.

The problem occurs upon editing a document. Prior to opening the document for editing I have confirmed that the dates in SharePoint are correct. When the document opens the dates are off by one day. The dates are all incremented by a day. If the document is then re-saved to SharePoint all of the dates in SharePoint are updated with the incorrect dates and the data is hence incorrect.

Does anyone know why Word would increment the dates by a day?
