Skype for Business not able to communicate with external users. RRS feed

  • external users show grey, not able to send message to them. it should be work. how to overcome this ?

  • Hi Philippa,

    Which type of Skype for Business server do you use, O365 or on-premise?

    Which type is the external users, Skype for Business users of other company, regular Skype users or remote users of your organization?

    Did it work before?

    In my understanding, for on-premise environment, to communicate with external users, it should first deploy Edge server, configure external access policy, in addition, with federated user, you also need to deploy federation.

    If you are Online users, you need to check the “Organization” > “External communications” option value. Refer to this article:
