Restore from backup, urgent

Question
-
Extremely Urgent,
We ran into the delete situation at the database. Now we want to just restore one days worth of data from the backup.
Some how there was a rollback and we lost data for 1/28/09. We do have a nightly backup that runs every night, we just want to restore data from 1/28.
Please provide specific steps. Greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I actually wrote an entire article on this - have a look and see if this helps:

As Alejandro said, you probably want to go for the "restore and copy" solution. Let us know if you have any specific questions.

You could restore the backup to a second db (read RESTORE statement in BOL, you need to specify new path for the files using MOVE clause) or box, and copy desired data.

What is "BOL"?Monday, February 2, 2009 6:47 PM -
KSkh said:BOL is Books Online. It's either the help that you installed with SQL Server, or the MDSN Books Online site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms130214.aspx
