Powershell Cmd to Update device drivers from network RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am trying to write a script that can check if the display device drivers are up to date > if not , install from the network. Basically the steps that we take to update display drivers through device manager in windows 10 GUI.

I have downloaded a device management powershell module  but that only lets you install drivers updates from a file that you point it to .

Is there such shell cmd that can check for device drivers update automatically and try to install outdated ones?

  • No. I recommend searching for third party tools that might do this.

Most device drivers are automatically updated by Windows Update.  Some vendors don't update consumer quality graphix systems through Windows update.  In many cases they supply a utility,  Nvidia" is one of these companies.  COntact the vendor for help.  Most cannot supply any command line tools.  Some can.
