  • Question

  • Hi

I want the user of the Internet Cafe PC to be able to adjust the volume in a restricted state.  However, access is denied when the restriction settings are applied.  Is there any specific option I need to select/deselect to allow the user to be able to do this?

I've copied an icon from Control Panel on to the user's desktop prior to setting the restrictions and access is fine.  However, as stated above, this is no longer the case after applying the settings.

    Thanks

  • Hi Vix2009, I didn't encounter the issue on my computer with the following settings:

    1. All restrictions are turned on for the restricted user under user settings.
    2. Standard user or limited account in Control Panel - User Accounts.

I suggest you try the following scenario and see the result:

    1. Open Sounds and audio devices in Control Panel, check "place volumn icon in the task bar".
    2. In User Settings in SteadyState, uncheck the restriction "Prevent access to Windows Explorer features".

Then, you can try if the shared user can ajust sound in the task bar.
