Options for rediting a GPO

    Question

  • Has anyone been successful in being able to actually edit a group policy from the view of the policy when you click on it and expand all the settings like from the "Settings" tab of the policy without having to right click and choose "Edit" then navigate to the actual settings you need to change? is it even possible to edit a policy at this point without having to choose edit and so on I guess is my questions.

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • Hi Matt,

Selecting the "Settings" tab in GPMC will only display all of the settings that are currently configured in the GPO in a nice HTML look that details where each setting is located in the GPO.

It might be frustrating but unfortunately you cannot alter settings from here. To change settings for a policy you need to right click it and choose "Edit" to open it in the Group Policy Management Editor tool.
