Hi, after I checking form the Windows 7 Compatibility Center, I found AutoCAD LT 2000i is not compatible with Windows 7, you can check on:
Windows 7 Compatibility Center
So I suggest you updating the AutoCAD to AutoCAD LT 2010, or you can try to use Windows XP Mode to see if the same issue appears.
Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7
