Question

Hi,
Has anyone seening the alert from SQL Server Windows Service monitor in SQL2005/2008 MPs. The monitor is enabled by default, but it didn't alert when my SQL Server instance went down for 5 minutes. Did I miss anything? Please help.
Thanks,
Ed

Hi,
I suggest you refer to the MP guide to re-configure it for a test:

Update: I did further testing. It works on non-clustered sql server instances, but the monitor doesn't work in the clustered sql instances even though I set "Alet only if service startup type is automatic" to false. It appears to be a bug. Can please someone validate?

Hi,
Have you referred to the article below?

Yes Alex. The steps in the article were done. And SCOM discovers the cluster and its resources. But the monitor doesn't work.Tuesday, June 19, 2012 3:58 PM
