  • I am seeing the exact same behavior on both Office 2010 and 2013 applications as well as IE10 and 11. Even closing a tab in IE result in a popup first saying IE has crash, searching for problem and then a 2nd popup asking if I would like to restart the application. If I close the windows, the applications still sometimes restart, but the main instance of IE with other tabs is never affected.

All Office applications claim they have crashed on closing and then attempt to restart. Non office applications like wordpad are not disrupted in any way.

  • Not seeing crash with Word 2010 & EMET 5.0, but Excel 2010 can be fixed by unticking MandatoryASLR. All other EMET settings can remain enabled.

  • I had the same problem as well :( ended up reverting to 4.1 ... it is a tech preview hoping this is a bug the PG is aware of and is being fixed for RTM.

  • For me, office and Acrobat Reader crash while closing; after installing office 2013 sp1, opening a second document in office hangs office components. Not sure if the latter is EMET related.

  • I am also seeing these problems, mostly in Word, Excel and Outlook 2010. Disabling Mandatory ASLR fixed the problem.
