  • I think IE-8 128 bit is supported 32 bit and IE-8 256 bit is supported 64 bit .

IE8 is 256 bit encrypted so long as you are running IE in protected mode.  Let’s make sure that you are.  Open IE and click on Tools and then click Internet Options.  Click on the Security tab and place a check-mark in the box next to Enabled Protected Mode.  You will need to restart IE for this setting to take effect.

  • As Durgesh said, you need to enable protected mode to enable 256 bit support.

In addition, if your copy of Windows 7 is using a newer version of IE and you need to downgrade for some reason (eg it's not a fresh install which comes with IE8 by default), then you can't install IE8 over the newer version. Instead if you "uninstall" the version of IE you have running on the system it will revert to the original version of IE.

  • Yes if your system is install newer version of IE and you need a install older version then firstly you can "uninstall" newer version after that you can install older version. if your are trying to replace the newer version to older version  then is not permitted.
