Server 2012 host and server 2012 vm need to connect vm to SAN via MPIO/iSCSI RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Windows 2012 Host connected to a Dell PS6000 SAN using iSCSI and MPIO over four NICs.  I have a Windows Server 2012 guest on the host connecting to the same SAN through a Virtual Switch that runs on port 1 of the four NIC ports to the SAN.  This all works fine.

What I want to do is ensure that MPIO is working on the virtual server to the SAN so we get the performance boost (failover is not an issue here, but nice).  Do I need to create more virtual switches tied to the other NIC ports to the SAN, then assign those in the virtual server?  Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Jeff
