  • Question

  • First time building a new pc and after first reboot while installing vista I keep getting stop errors and setup never completes. Stop messages vary somewhat depending on if it's the initial crash or following crashes but most prevelant is

    0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC000005, 0xFFFFF8000185E251, 0xFFFFF98000C54E58, xFFFFF98000C19830)

    My hardware is as follows

    XFX MB-N780-ISH9 motherboard

    XFX PVT94PYDF4 GeForce 9600GT GPU

    Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q6600 2.4GHz

    OCZ2N800SR4GK 4GB DDR2 SDRAM

I believe my problem is in the BIOS but I cant be sure. I tried to install XP pro and it does basically the same thing. I have no USB devices connected. Please Help!

  • Hi,

As this issue happens not only when installing Windows XP but also when installing Windows Vista, we can infer this issue is not related to operating systems. The cause is probably on the hardware side. You may need to contact your computer manufacturer or a local computer store to check hardware. Thank you for your understanding.
