Cannot "Add New Synchronization Connection"? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Community

Recently when attempting to "Add New Synchronization Connection"
for Service Applications when I click "Populate Containers" and click OK
I got an error regarding LDAP port 389 was unaccessible.

When I check the port using PowerShell it says the port is closed.

After rebooting when I click "Poputlate Containers" the progress bar
starts but eventually the process "Timed Out".

This never happened before is there a way to open port 389 or stop
the process from timing out, or can I use another port, how can I create the
    "Synchronization Connection"?

        Thank you

When there is a problem with Synchronization sometimes it is necessary to restart the User Profile Synchronization Service.
