Install IE package with IEAK with updated version RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows 7 x64

    Hi,

I have created IE 11 Package (msi or full exe file), but when I install through SCCM or manually, only RTM version get installed not 11.0.20.

I am following this website http://prajwaldesai.com/deploy-internet-explorer-11-using-sccm-2012-r2/ or Johan deploymentresearch, but has a same result.

I also tried to extract full ie and run IE-REDIST.exe /quiet /norestart /update-no, no luck.

During install I check ie11-main.log, but there is no error.

How can I install IE 11 with version other than RTM.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE.

  • This is how I am installing.

I download following patches locally to folder
    Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64.msu
    Windows6.1-KB2786081-x64.msu
    Windows6.1-KB2834140-v2-x64.msu
    Windows6.1-KB2882822-x64.msu
    Windows6.1-KB2888049-x64.msu
    IE-Win7.CAB
    IE-Spelling-en.MSU
    IE-Hyphenation-en.MSU
    IE11-Windows6.1-KB2929437-x64.msu

Some of the patches and IE 11(offline full) needs to extract to get MSU file out.
I have create batch files, include in the folder. Create package, for program, i choose my batch file. works fine. here is the batch file

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    START /wait %systemroot%\sysnative\wusa.exe "%~dp0Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64.msu" /quiet /norestart

  • Hi,

Don’t use IEAK on a domain-joined computer in your WSUS environment, or when it done, it will attempts to download these updates from your WSUS, Apparently WSUS won’t allow that. Try to create this installation package from a virtual machine.
