Changing Local Disk/Trusted Installer

    Question

  • Hi, I need help I want to free my pc of space so I want to change my local disk. I have already changed where program files were but they are still in my C: folder. Does anyone know how to change my local disk and how to delete Program Files and Program Files (x86) from my C: drive without trusted installer saying now and having known where TrustedInstaller is?

  • Hi,

How did you change the program files location?

If you want to delete the program files which storage in Program Files and Program Files (x86) folder, please try to uninstall the program in Control Panel -> Program and Features -> right click the program -> Uninstall. Then reinstall them in other disk.

And you could try to take ownership of the folder, but I don’t recommend you delete or remove the folder in Program Files and Program Files (x86) directly. It may cause some application not work.

Here are steps. (Please use administrator account)

    1. Right click Program Files / Program Files (x86) -> Properties

    2. Under Security tab select Advanced -> Change

    3. Add the account, then select Replace owner on subcontainers and objects -> Apply

    4. Then click Edit under Security tab -> click Add to add the account and give it Full Control.
