Windows 7 Update Error Code 80070005 RRS feed

  • I've been trying to update windows 7 for a while now. I've looked up every way possible, and every time i shutdown and tries to configure, it fails. then i check and see the error code 80070005. i know that this means that i dont have permission. im on the administrative account, ive tried my best uninstalling any third party programs and still nothing.

    The error code 0x80070005 is also described as "ACCESS DENIED." You may receive this error if you don't have the appropriate permissions to install a particular update. This can also happen if malware is on your computer.

  • I had the same problem on windows 7 x86
    although I was trying to update from a local admin account, so lack of rights shouldn't be a problem
    Solved it by temporarily disabling mcafee antivirus
