Command bar and status bar are grayed out RRS feed

  • Question

  • In our environment in IE view,Toolbar the command bar and status bar options are checked mark and grayed out. I've read some posts about that and removed IE latest updates based on them. but nothing changed. both IE 9 and 11 have this issue on all clients. 

    what to do next?

    Please follow the path below of Group Policy to check these policy settings:

    Computer Configuration\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

    User Configuration\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

    Then check their policy items status.

  • Hi,

    those settings are controlled by Group Policy. Start>run>gpedit.msc. Normally client policies are managed by you network administrators.

    nothing at all to do with any WU... you should reinstate those that you have uninstalled. Then after reading the above link which explains how to use GPO amend your client profiles.
