Secondary Site Server Not installing IIS or configuring RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

we have multiple secondary site servers and have no problem in creating them, apart from one.

IIS does not have any configuration, no virtual directories, the folders that are created for DP have not been created.

    Default website is empty.

i have done exactly the same as our other working servers

    We recently upgraded to 1511

    Config : -

    SCCM 2012 R2 / 1511

    Server 2012R2

    thanks

  • sender.log from that server? Do you mean the secondary site? That would be completely irrelevant for reviewing the installation status.

You should have some or all of the log files listed under the site server section at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh427342.aspx

  • Have you checked the logs?

sender.log and hman.log are the two to start with.

  • Looking at log files is about much more than just looking for errors -- if the only things that was important was errors, then that's all it would show. You need to read them and follow the activity. Find evidence that it even attempted to communicate. Also remember that the logs in ConfigMgr rollover by default after 2MB so you may need to open the history log or even attempt the operation again and watch the log at the same time.

  • Hi

yea im aware what logs do.

There is nothing that stands out as not causing a problem or not working.

The sender log has not much stuff in it.

the site has installed properly and shows in program files.

Just none of the IIS settings have been configured.

can i manually set that up ?

Do you know how it should be done ?

Also i am seeing no components in monitoring on the primary box. so perhaps the site has not installed properly

    thanks

  • The above snippet has nothing to do with the secondary site. You need to find things relevant to "issue" you are experiencing. In this case, that means going back in the logs or uninstalling and reinstalling and watching the logs. You may also need to check the logs on the secondary site server itself as this is where a lot of the actual activity is reflected.

  • The snipit was from the sender log on that server.

That doesn't answer the question on manually configuring  IIS

I have a very high latency to that server, but still expect it to be able to install as it was previous.
