Protecting my DPM 2016 Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to figure out how I can protect my primary DPM server located in our production centre. I have read that another "secondary DPM server" can do this. We backup clients to our primary DPM server, no servers, just laptops.

I have built a secondary DPM server in our DR site and added our primary DPM server to a protection group. All volumes etc replicate across however the most important volumes, the actual volumes that store our backup data does not. They are the REFS volumes I have created. Originally NTFS but DPM reformats them in REFS.

Why won't these replicate out. Am I right that REFS is not supported. It seems really crazy that you can't protect these volumes. Microsoft are suggesting using a secondary DPM server to protect a primary DPM server yet it does not actually protect the critical data.
