  • Take a look at the publishing feature.  You can create a custom layout for your product page and then create the catalog in the pages document library.  Take a look at this article:

  • You need to create a display template using Client Side Rendering with JSLink.  You will need to write a JavaScript method that will get the image information from the item and then render it in the list view using img tag.  You can render this in AllItems view or Display Item view as required.

Check the Basics and Examples below.

  • Add a Site column "Contact Photo" to your custom list, rename the title to "Thumbnail" if required. Whenever you add the image url in the field, you should be able to the see the picture in the view and forms.

  • i am using sharepoint 2013 relatively a very beginner with sharepoint. My understanding was that if you create a column with Hyperlink or Picture as datatype and store path of the picture it should show picture in the list ?. and by using infopath repeating section or table you can store any number of pictures ?

  • If you are using 2013 you should post that in the SharePoint 2013 forum, not the SharePoint legacy forum.  You'll find more help there.  That being said what you are describing is possible, but quite advanced.  If you are using 2013 you might find it easier to use the Catalog Site feature.  You can read about it here:

  • Infopath repeating section does not apply for custom list, it works only with forms library. I would agree with Pauls' approach on publishing pages, for multiple images.
