URGENT : Primary and Secondary Workflow with Project Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm in the middle of a dilema at the moment. I have a Primary workflow of DMDynamic wf template that create tasks of content type "PSWApprovalTask" in the task list. Now i have created a SharePoint Designer workflow(Secondary) on the task list to start automatically when an item is created but the workflow doesn't work on the "PSWApprovalTask" content type(the type of item that the DMDynamic workflow creates in the list). but wen i add a new item in the list the workflow works on content type "Task".

Any ideas will be really appreciated.

    Please Help!!!!

  • Understand you are bypassing, but remember, editing PWA in SPD is not a supported scenario and you may end up voiding OEM contract & get in an unsupported scenario, Just wanted you to be aware of that

This is why i wanted to clarify

  • Just curios how did you managed to create a shrepoint designer based workflow for approval task list as PWA doesn't gets opened in SPD, or are you using a different list / location to store approval task list ?

  • Hi,

I had to edit the onet.xml file : DisableWebDesignFeatures="wdfopensite" from the ONET.XML loacted in the

    File. C:/ProgramFiles/CommonFiles/MicrosoftShared/WebServerExtensions/14/TEMPLATE/PWA/

and then reset iis. This then enables editing of your pwa in sharepoint designer.

  • Thanks for the tip Sunil.. I did this on my test environment so no worries.

So i find out that this can't work except the two workflows are created with SPD.... I have resolved my issue by using Visual Studio to send my emails.
