my new hard disk wont factory reset RRS feed

  • i had a new hard disk drive instaled and im trying to factory rest it and it wont allow configuration to factory reset. how do i make my drive availabe to be  reset.

  • By "factory reset" do you mean you're trying to reinstall Windows that was preinstalled on the computer? If yes - you can't do that with a new hard drive because it won't have the factory restore partition on it. You will need install disks from the computer OEM.

     

    If you don't have the restore partition or install disks:

    Contact the OEM computer manufacturer and ask them to send you an install disk for your computer - they may or may not do it. If they agree to send you one they may charge a small fee. Contact information for the manufacturer of your computer can be found here:
