SSRS Timeout in Chrome and Firefox RRS feed

  • Question

  • Running into an issue with SSRS #reports housed in #SharePoint 2013. When using Chrome or Firefox, if a user leaves the report open and idle for a few minutes ( 2 minutes or more).  this doesn't happen in IE.  Has anybody seen this behavior?

  • Hi EdPortals,

Per my understanding that you got timeout when idle the open report for about 2 minutes and which only happened in Chrome and Firefox but work fine in IE, right?

I would like to confirm did you got some error message after timeout or what did you get when time out?

The report session keeps alive by pinging the server periodically for every N-1 second, where N being the timeout of the session set within Reporting Service. In this case, the report session has already expired in 2 minutes and hence whenever we access the page after 2 minutes, the report will be completely refreshed. To solve the problem, we can increase the report session timeout for Reporting service in SharePoint 2013 integrated mode by following steps:

    1. Browse the SharePoint central administration URL and navigate to Application Management -> Manage service applications (Under Service Applications).
    2. Select the Reporting services service application and click on manage.
    3. Click on System Settings.
    4. Locate the Session Timeout setting. We can change it to 1200.
    5. Click on OK.

  • Hi EdPortals,

Did this resolve your issue?   The timeout in the setting specified by Vicky Liu doesn't match the 120 seconds that you are seeing as we have it set to 1200 seconds and see the same issue.
