  • Question

  • I have a sony VAIO with Windows 7 Professional. The PC cannot connect to the external monitor (DVI with a Bilkin HDMI cable), I was able to previously connect to the monitor successfully. The Device Manager gives the following status message "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

Can you kindly provide advise as to how to remedy this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

The error message indicates the driver was corrupted.

Please go to device manager, right click on the display card->Properties->Update the device software. Or you can uninstall the driver. Download the compatible driver for Windows 7 from Sony download center according the the model.
