SanctuaryExec Service - Event Viewer Error

    Question

  • We've had multiple computers on our network all having the reported error in event viewer -

    EventID: 7023

The SanctuaryExec service terminated with the following error:
The requested operation is successful. Changes will not be effective until the system is rebooted.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

This fault stopped our users from printing. When attempting to print a printer test page the error access denied appeared.

I couldn't find any articles online, does anyone have any ideas?

  • Hi,

I have read your issue but I have a question in your event log. Based on my research, Microsoft does not have a service called "SanctuaryExec" by default. Is it a 3rd party software installed in your PC?

For your printing issue, we would like to suggest you first find a issued machine and perform the steps below to test.

    1. Download the latest printer driver from the manufacturer official website.

    2. Refer the link below to remove and add the printer again.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/add-or-remove-a-printer

    3. After that, start the Windows in clean boot mode to test the issue.

    Good luck to fix it.

  • Sounds like you need to check with whomever is supporting that 3rd party software in your environment. You should look at the executable or DLL behind the "SanctuaryExec" service and see who the Manufacturer is. On a problem computer, run services.msc and double-click on the "SanctuaryExec" (or however it is named) service and note the path to the executable. Then dig from there. File information may show the manufacturer, or the digital signature might also.

Not sure but it looks like it MIGHT be something called "Sanctuary Server" edition of SecureWave:
